- Neck
- Riders on the Mantis stand-up roller coaster have
mention of neck pain associated with riding this ride. Many
of the neck related issues seem to originate after the first
loop. Area of the train did not seem to matter as neck pain
was observed from riders sitting within all areas of the
train.
- Riders on Top Thrill
Dragster failing to keep their heads back during this
rides powerful launch led to neck related injuries. ASO
found all of these issues to stem from rider's not
following instructions.
- Riders on The Wicked
Twister roller coaster also failed to keep their heads
back during this rides launch. However, some of these
issues are stemming from ride operators conducting a
countdown before launch 3,2,1, but launching the ride at
2, catching unsuspecting riders off guard.

mention of back pain associated with riding this wooden
roller coaster. Back pain could not be pin pointed to a

-
Misc. - Talking with first aid
staff proved pretty educational with this venue. We did not
know, nor did we expect, that one of the issues coming to
first aid at this park had to do with guests getting ash in
their eyes from this venues locomotive. Who'd had known...

Back and Neck
-
The Hurler wooden roller coaster has had
complaints aimed at neck and back pain.
We were unable to pin point a
particular area of the ride which led to
these types of injuries. Age of the
injured riders varied.
- The
Rebel Yell wooden roller coaster
also saw complaints aimed at neck
and back pain. These types of
injuries, however, to our surprise,
were about even on both the front
and backwards trains. Age seemed to
center around riders under the age
of 35.
-
Misc. Injuries -
Shoulder
injuries on The Shockwave roller coaster
was not uncommon. This rides rough
nature also led to the triggering of
Migraine headaches in riders -- as well
as riders exiting the ride with a
pounding headache.
-
Riders on The Anaconda roller
coaster also made mention of this
ride and the number it did on their
ears. Muffled hearing and general
ear pain was not uncommon with
riding this roller coaster.

Misc. - Not much
more to add on this venue. Injuries
appeared to be down -- with a handful of
other injuries reported to ASO. Nothing
to worry about now, however.

-
Misc. Info -
Guest feedback for this venue was mixed, however, we would
like to make it known that it was hard to obtain information
on this park. In fact, this has to be the hardest park to
obtain information on during the 2009 season. Can't really
put our finger on why, but it is something we want to look
into and correct in 2010. Perhaps, though, this park was
really that safe in 2009? We would like to hope so...

Neck -
Riders on the Steel Venom roller coaster have made mention
of having their neck snapping back during launch of this
roller coaster. Age of injured varied.
-
Misc.
Info - While there were various other issues (4
involving Renegade - Outlaw Coaster) at this park, there
were not enough to generate a issue report on. Something
that was still being passed on to ASO in 2010 was the number
(4) of guests who inquired as to their personal safety. The
park seems to draw a rough crowd or one that is perceived as
rough.

off this ride and having to vomit. Riders attribute this to
the rough nature of the ride. ASO found that some of these
vomit type complaints involved riders who had been on the
ride 3+ times within an hour.
-
Misc. Info – There were other
issues at this park, but nothing that we feel needs to be
addressed at this time. There have been various complaints
with riders saying that they could not understand ride
operator safety spiels on the PA system due to ride
operators singing, yelling, and playing around. This was
most noted with Supreme Scream and Silver Bullet. As for
Ghostrider, it has to be one of the most complained about
roller coaster we have come across, more so than Son of
Beast in Ohio (grant it, Son of Beast was closed a majority
of 2009). We have been on Ghostrider, and, a lot of the
complaints about it are pretty dead on.

did not offer much and lacked value for their dollar.
